Singapore : Tony Roma Again

When my husband was in Singapore a few weeks ago, I was not surprised when he and his gang went to Tony Roma’s.

For some reason, this place is becoming one of the must go eatery whenever he is in Singapore - although after our last trip there, I think I’ve had enough of it to last me several more years.

This time they went to the Orchard Road branch.

From the pictures that he took, the beef steak did look very succulent. During the days when I could still eat beef, I prefer mine medium rare too.

I thought the sound of mushroom burger was not so appetizing, but it actually looked quite interesting in the picture. And the chicken dish just looked like any other chicken dish.

Of course, being all guys, bottles of beers made an appearance.

But I am still not convinced enough to make my way to this place in our future (and unknown) visits to Singapore. Besides, there is another place called the Hog’s Breath (weird name, I know) which I am more keen to check out.

I found a review of the Hog’s Breath Cafe in Australia by Kokadoodle and although he said that the Singapore’s branch supposedly did not have quite the same standard - who knows maybe my standard is lower?

FYI : Protecting Concrete Garage Floors

Because there are 7 adults in my house, our garage are fully utilised and sometimes, even the grass lawn became temporary parking lots.

We also have a porch which used to be coated with regular paint and before long, the paint flaked off and it now quite a hideous with old oil stains and only partly hidden by the number of shoes that our household carries! It’s no longer used for to park cars but the damage is done and sometimes I do wish we had known how to protect floors then.

I read that concrete garage floors can be protected with special coating such as epoxy which is easy to clean and can last for years.

It’s perhaps too late for our house now as this method works best for new concrete floor but at least now I know what to do with our garage floors when we build our own house next time.

Read more about how you can coat your concrete garage floor using epoxy from the CarGuyGarage.

FoodZone

Of all the malls in Bandar Seri Begawan, my favorite is Yayasan only because the best book store - for my kind of book needs - is there.

The only problem with Yayasan was that we didn’t like the food court and the Indian and fast-food restaurants are a no-go when we’re with the kids.

However, we found the perfect eatery for us last weekend, inside Yayasan no less! This place used to be where the Delifrance and now it is FoodZone.

My husband’s tom yam mee hoon was super-spicy and my chicken curry was really scrumptious. And Eu had no complaints about her fried noodle.

We were actually very impressed.

The staffs were friendly and helpful - of course, how could they not pay attention to us when the kids kept flirting with them. While making a lot of noise.

In fact, I don’t even have to worry about taking pictures of places as I now have an assistant photographer. This shot was taken by Eu - I only had to edit a man on one side who was not on his most flattering angle. The waitresses were more than pleased to pose for her.

No issue about going to Yayasan for lunch for us anymore - except perhaps the fact that it’s becoming too crowded with non-shoppers-and-heavy-smokers. But that’s just me.
